The current scientific article aims to examine culinary tourism as a development opportunity for city hotels under the conditions of globalizations. The main definitions of culinary tourism in the specialized literature are highlighted. A special place is dedicated to gastronomy as one of the most vivid expressions of the cultural diversity of destinations. Attention is given to the importance of culinary tourism for the hospitality industry as a main resource and an additional compliment to tourists. The role of culinary tourism for the development of city hotels is analyzed. The leading criteria for the development of successful culinary tourism at destinations are discussed. A characteristic of the effective strategy for the development of culinary tourism products in city hotels is made. Special importance is given to the challenges facing the hospitality industry regarding the offering of culinary experiences. Emphasis is put on the main global trends affecting the structure of culinary tourism. The author believes that culinary tourism will have a significant role for the product development of city hotels under the conditions of globalization in the coming years.
