The study was carried out during the period 1999 - 2001 in the training- and experimental fields of the Agricultural University - Plovdiv with one of the most widely grown sugar beet cultivars - Radnevo. The phenological development of sugar beet was followed up in 6 variants of the irrigation regime and under the course of changes of the major meteorological elements during the vegetation period. Interrelationships were established about the effect of the agrometeorological conditions and the iffigation regime on the development rate of sugar beet. It was established correlation and regression relationships between the parameters studied.
