A field experiment in nitrogen fertilisation of radish variety Edri cherveni was conducted in the Maritsa Vegetable Crops Research Institute, Plovdiv for two years on strongly leaches meadow- cinnamonic soil. The following nitrogen fertilisers are used: ammonium sulphate, ammonium nitrate, carbamide, potassium nitrate, calcium nitrate and sodium nitrate. The experiment was conducted with rates: 0 (control), 30 kg, 60 kg, 90 kg and 120 kg N/ha. It was established that the fertilisation rate increase results in enhancement of root nitrate content after fertilisation with carbamide, ammonium sulphate and sodium nitrate that is stronger expressed in autumn production. The fertilisation with sodium nitrate inhibits the radish growth, the yield is low and the produce quality is getting worse.
