This paper is about words and the way they convey information for ecology. Tha authors focus here on new word forms, as they appear in what could be called the English of Ecology. Our main concern has been to see if this specialised English has features of its own or if it relies on the vocabulary of other specialised forms of English. We have analysed mainly the kind of word transformations that can result in new words, leaving aside borrowings.
