In 2005 in the greenhouse of the University of Forestry in Sofia were conducted experiments that aimed to determine the efficiency of 6 insecticides and 2 plant extracts against Pseudococcus longispinus and Ps. affinis. The system insecticides Tiametoxam and Imidacloprid showed very high efficiency (100%) and persistence and in the opposite of insecticides Azadirahtin A, Metoxifenozid and Flufenoksuron, which show the slow initial effect and short persistence. Plant extracts of Nicotiana tabacum and Veratrum album subsp. lobelianum showed quickest insecticide effect.
Studies on the effeciency of some plant protection means in the control of species from the g. Pseudococcus (Homoptera: Pseudococcidae)
