The influence of the temperature and the rainfalls on the phonological development (fruit buds, flowering and fruit formation) of the almond in the region of Plovdiv for the period 2001-2009 was studied. The vegetation of the early-flowering cultivars begins mainly in February and the late-flowering ones in the first half of March. In all nine studied years, normal yields from the early-flowering cultivars were obtained in six of those years, and from the late-flowering ones in eight of those years.
