The pH of the soil is of great importance for growing crops. It affects many plant-related processes. Because the pH measurement scale is logarithmic, any one unit change is actually a 10-fold increase in acidity or alkalinity of the soil. Periodic sampling and analysis are key factors for establishing and timely pH adjustment. The modern technique allows establishing the quantities imported and exported elements important for the development of the plants. Thus, modern agriculture goes hand in hand with reliable technology and proven methods of soil pH regulation.
The most successful and prevalent one so far is liming. With an appropriate standard and tailored to the needs of the crop, it contributes to maintaining the pH of the soil. The quality and size of the lime determine the efficacy with which a lime material changes the pH level. In this way, the land is maintained in good agricultural and environmental condition.
