Abstract
The paper makes an attempt to identify the factors for successful business development, including of the family business. For this purpose, a study was conducted in 25 family businesses from different sectors of economic activity. The role and importance of the family business for sustainable development is clarified based on a review of scientific publications. The opinions, expressed in them that very often family companies are more successful and able to deal with problems and challenges more easily than other types of business enterprises, provoked my research interests toward conducting the present study. The focus in it is on a relatively poorly researched factor for business success, namely – the foreign language training of human resources. Both the prerequisites for and the importance of this factor in present-day conditions are pointed out in the paper: globalization and international business, technological changes, multilinguist and multiculturalism, as well as the specific direction of foreign language training for sustainable development of family business.
Key words: factors for successful business development, globalization, international business, technological changes, foreign language training
