In IMSA Troyan in the 2003-2007 period a comparative study was conducted with three sour cherry cultivars that were new to our country. The following growth characteristics were observed: trunk cross-sectional area, crown height and volume, average number of annual branches, average length of a branch, total annual growth and reproductive characteristics: yield per tree, average weight of fruit and stone.
It was found that cultivar Schatten Morelle had the poorest growth and that of Keleris 14 and Keleris 16 was the most vigourous.
Cultivar Carneol was attacked by fungal diseases to a smaller extent in otherwise equal conditions.
