Resume

Three-year field experiment (1999-2001) with sugar beet „Radnevo“ and „Chemus“ variety was conducted in Plovdiv region. The aim was to study the influence of the irrigation methods on the chemical composition. Two irrigation methods: surface (by furrows) and drip irrigation were used. Sucrose content vary from 13.3 to 18.5 % by „Radnevo“ and 12.1 – 14.4 % by „Chemus“ variety.
