Based on a considerable number of scientific forecasts for 2015–2050 in fields such as demography, economic development, social inequality, regional development etc., the paper makes an attempt to outline probable changes that might happen in the tourism industry as a result and, in particular, their influence on the size and direction of the incoming and outgoing tourist flow, employment and income from tourism, specialized types of tourism, tourist destinations and transport, duration of stay, motivation for travelling, etc.
