Resume

Indicators of poverty and social inclusion are part of the overall performance of the European Community to monitor countries’ progress in combating poverty and social exclusion. The study is an assessment of the main indicators of poverty and social inclusion by districts of the country for the 2008-2013 period.
Inequality in income distribution by region was analyzed based on the calculated Gini coefficient. The main factor increasing the risk of falling into the group of the poor for the majority of the population is their economic activity and participation on the labour market. The share of the poor is at its highest among the unemployed.
