Three-year field experiment (1999-2001) with sugar beet „Radnevo“ variety was conducted in Plovdiv region. The aim was to study the influence of the irrigation methods on the sugar beet water consumption and productivity. Two irrigation methods: surface (by furrows) and drip irrigation were used. The Water consumption under irrigation was vastly higher under irrigation conditions comparing with non-irrigated canopy and it was more 500 mm.
