The correlation-regression relation between the grain yield, the yield elements and some biometric parameters of the Kn 619 maize hybrid in normal and male sterility cytoplasm (type “M”) was tested.
Both variants of the Кn 619 hybrid displayed strong positive correlations between the grain yield and the indications such as percentage of grain in an ear, height of the plants, height up to the base of the tassel and MVK.
The strong positive correlation between the yield of the Кn 619 F hybrid and the area of an ear leaf (r = 0.796 and t = 5.3) was especially impressive, while for Кn 619 М that correlation was weak and mathematically unproved (r = 0.178 and t = 0.5).
