9. Free city tours as a marketing tool for presentation of local tourist attractions (for example Plovdiv city)

The article examines the tourist tours of foreigners in the city of Plovdiv organized and guided by a tour guide not linked to travel agencies and tour operators. The questions about the profile of the tourists visiting Plovdiv, the motivation to visit and the assessment of the destination as well as the typical tourist behaviour during the stay are discussed.

The reasons for the necessity of development of tourist packages, extending the stay, diversification of the offered tourist services and increase of the income from tourists, as well as those that focus on young tourists visiting Plovdiv alone without using a travel agency, are justified.
