7. Studies on the effect of some soil parameters on the growth and yield of oriental tobacco Ustina origin

The reaction of tobacco plants to the changes in some soil parameters was studied in a field experiment set up in 1998 and 1999. Alteration of the plant height, leaf number per plant, linear parameters of the leaf and leaf density was noted as depending on the mechanical composition and fertility of the soil. Yield variability was observed when growing tobacco on soils that differ in their mechanical and chemical composition.
