The report describes the economic and demographic characteristics of the region of Bourgas. Indicators such as dynamics of the population, age structure, age dependency ratio and others have been studied. The condition of the labour market in the region of Bourgas has been analyzed in comparison with the condition of the labour market at a national level. For this purpose, the following indicators were used – average annual salary, number and structure of workforce, economic activity rate, number of unemployed persons, unemployment rate and others. In addition, profiled for the tourism sector, a synthesized characteristics of Bulgarian tourism was made. In relation to the latter, indicators such as revenues from international tourism, contribution of tourism to the national economy, arrivals of foreigners in the country, investment in tourism as well as employment in tourism were analyzed. A brief analysis of the tourism sector in the region of Bourgas in particular was made and some development trends in the sector were listed. Brief comments on the tourism labour market in the region of Bourgas are also included, in the light of which key findings are outlined.
